3.1 Instructor Re-Certification

3.1.1 RE-REGISTRATION CLINICS
3.1.1.1 The times, locations, and format of the annual re-certification clinics for instructors will be established by the State Director of Instruction (SDI) in conjunction with the State Referee Administrator (SRA).
3.1.1.2 Additionally, each District Director of Instruction (DDI), in conjunction with the SDI and the SRA, will schedule a two-hour clinic for the local District’s instructors. This is to be an annual one-time-only clinic and is to take place between July 1 and October 31 with all local instructors participating.
3.1.2 REQUIREMENTS
3.1.2.1 An instructor shall attend five (5) hours of In-Service Training taught by a certified USSF National or State Instructor.
3.1.2.2 The State Director of Instruction (SDI) in concurrence with the District Directors of Instruction (DDIs) shall determine the material content to be presented at the Instructor re-certification and training clinics.
3.1.2.3 Input should be sought from the State Referee Administrator (SRA) and the State Director of Assessment (SDA) as well as from the District Referee Administrator (DRA) and the District Director of Assessment (DDA) from each district.
3.1.2.4 The Instructors shall be assigned either by the USSF office or by the State Director of Instruction (SDI).
3.1.2.5 Each participating OSSRC instructor scheduled and authorized by the SDI to teach a class shall be entitled to a fee as approved by the OSSRC for USSF clinics.
3.1.2.6 Each instructor re-registrant is to take and pass a Refresher Exam, which will be given at the re-registration clinic and administered by the SDI or SRA or a USSF appointed Instructor.
3.1.2.7 All instructor re-registrants must bring their pre-printed re-registration form to the re-registration clinic or a local instructor clinic, changes made, signed and dated.
3.1.2.8 Annual re-registration fees are set by Ohio South State Referee Committee.
3.1.2.8.1 An instructor’s re-registration fee shall be paid by the OSSRC if all of the following requirements have been met by the instructor and verified by the SDI:
a) Attended the annual Referee Instructor re-certification clinic.
b) Attended the local two (2)-hour District Instructor Training clinic for the previous year.
c) Instructed a minimum of six (6) hours during the previous instructional year (July 1 to June 30)
d) Assisted or participated in at least one scheduled OSSRC / USSF Fitness Test during the previous year (July 1 to June 30)
3.1.2.8.2 A National referee, who is not an Instructor, shall have his referee re-registration fee paid by the OSSRC if all of the following requirements have been met and verified by the SDI:
a) Authorized by the SDI or the SRA to address a class or clinic and/or a field session.
b) The class or clinic or field session is approved by the OSSRC to fulfill new or current referee certification or re-registration requirements.
c) Conducted this session during the previous instructional year (July 1 to June 30)
3.1.2.9 All re-certification requirements for the new year must be completed by December 1, otherwise it will be considered a late re-registration. Instructors attending a make-up clinic may be charged an additional $25.00 plus their annual registration fee.
3.1.2.10 All re-registrants will receive a copy of the current USSF law book and other associated materials.
3.1.2.11 Any instructor who instructs less than 4 class hours during the previous instructional year may be down-graded one Instructor grade level (or dropped from the instructor program if a Grade 10 Provisional Associate Instructor), as determined by the State Director of Instruction (SDI).
3.1.2.11.1 Restoration of instructor grade or reinstatement into the instruction program will be at the discretion of and subject to the requirements specified by the SDI.
